1. How do I know about the details of the post for which recruitment is notified?

All vacancies are notified through Centralised Employment Notifications (CENs). CENs gives detailed information about the name of the post, eligibility conditions, vacancies, recruitment process and all other details relating to that recruitment and is uploaded on the official websites of all RRBs.

2. How to apply? Is there any laid down format for caste certificates, etc?

Applications are required to be submitted through ‘On-line’ mode only. For this, a link is provided on RRBs websites whenever a CEN is published. Format of all required documents including caste certificates will be available in the CENs which can also be downloaded from this website.

3. What care one should take while filling-up the online application form?

Read carefully the complete CEN and understand the process and keep all your information/documents ready before attempting to fill in the online application form. In case of doubt, refer to Guidelines for filling up the online application given on the registration page & CEN. Make sure that you have filled-in all the required details in the application form. Do not furnish any false/wrong information. SC/ST candidates who wish to avail free travel facility are required to upload their caste certificate. Candidate should keep digital photo of the appropriate size (as mentioned in CEN) ready to upload. The reasons for invalid application/rejection will be given in the CEN. Please check the same and ensure correct submission of application. Applications with Black & White, long shot, hazy/unclear, photocopy of the photograph or selfie photo are rejected. After uploading the photograph, please check your application that the photograph and certificate uploaded are clear. Do not submit duplicate applications. Duplicate applications/applications to different RRBs for the same post are rejected.

In case you are taking help of DTP centres for filling up online application, ensure you have checked the documents, photo, signature etc have been uploaded along with your online application. Please ensure correctness of all uploaded documents before its final submission. Any mistake noticed at any stage of recruitment process would result in rejection of your application. Candidates are, therefore, requested to ensure the data provided in the online application is correct before final submission of the online application.

Even after submission of the online application, certain modifications are allowed through ‘modify application’ link on the registration page after payment of requisite fee. For this, may please read the relevant instructions given in the CEN.

4. What is the examination fee for the various categories?

The details of examination fee payable including those exempted would be given in the CEN. Please read the same before applying.

5. What is the mode of payment of examination fee?

The examination fee can be paid online using Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking or through SBI Branch or any computerised Post Office.

6. How do I know the schedule of the examination?

The schedules of various examinations and its related information are uploaded on the RRBs website. Eligible Candidates are also informed about the various stages of exam through e-mail & SMS by RRB.

7. What if I do not receive any communication from RRB for the examination?

Normally in such situations, you should get in touch with the Helpdesk through e-mail. One can also check with the RRB to which it has applied through e-mail or telephone.

8. How is the recruitment conducted?

The entire recruitment process is conducted as per the procedure given in the CENs and is fully computerised and selection is based purely on merit. There is no manual intervention in this selection process. RRBs are committed to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.

9. Has RRB authorised any coaching centre on its behalf to impart coaching?

No. RRBs do not appoint any agent(s) or coaching centre(s) for acting on their behalf. Beware of touts and job racketeers trying to deceive by false promises of securing job in Railways either through influence, money or by any other unfair means. Candidates attempting unfair means will be disqualified and legal action shall be initiated against them.

10. What should one do in case one comes across any person or agency claiming to ensure job and demands money?

He/She should immediately lodge a complaint with the nearest police station. Candidates can also call on the helpline number 0612-2677011. If Candidates come to notice any unfair means, they can share the information confidentially with RRBs and the identity of the candidate would be kept secret.
